I've been playing with Flux AI a bit

(NSFW Images below)

Flux AI is awesome. It's like a dumber Dall-E, which makes things a bit easier to get poses / etc.
Funny enough, it still struggles with concepts, such as "Beltless / no belt / etc" and it will ALWAYS put a belt on a trench coat.

It likely won't be replacing the art in DG, because of the amount of work I'd have to put in to make the character's fit. Additionally, Flux AI is nearly useless at lewd content, I have to brute force it and it's very difficult to get decent results when I do.

However, the results are otherwise very impressive.

One of my favorite things is that it's extremely capable of retro anime / two tone art.

While it's possible with Stable Diffusion and my custom model and through the use of Lora's, the quality as well as the pose I'm going for usually degrades and forces a lot more manual work, and most of the time it's still not two-toned shading.

There's a game I've slowly been working on when I've been too burnt out to work on DG (DG was way too ambitious for a single developer with a full time job and a kid). I'm planning on hiring an artist for that one, but when I've made it far enough to release a preview, I may temporarily draw some retro anime art and use something like Flux to color it for me, as well as improve my meager artistic skills.

I'm a big fan of retro anime art style, some of the stuff I grew up with is Slayers, Demon City Shinjuku, Vampire Hunter D, Cowboy Bebop, Fushigi Yuugi, Ranma 1/2, etc.

I hope to eventually put a game on steam with that art style.

You guys have been awesome, it's entirely thanks to you supporters that an indie dev like myself can actually afford an artist on my next game(s). :)

I'm not abandoning AI art of course, I strongly believe AI art is going to be incredibly helpful for indie devs with no money but great ideas in the future. But redrawing and editing images takes so long and the paths in DG have split so much that it's gotten extremely hard to work on the art as well as the story + programming, so I'm sure you guys have noticed that the art has slowed down significantly.

I'm trying to find time to edit some videos into gifs for more scenes as well as work on more art for the game.

Anyways, thanks for reading this far. And thanks for supporting DG as far as you have!

I estimate DG will end in the next 6 months, and I'll have something ready to replace it by then, which I may give out to patrons only as a free preview if I feel comfortable enough with some of the progress I've made on it.

I'd like to at least finish a couple chapters with a couple different characters.

(this next one is my personal favorite, this is the exact art style I'm aiming for).
